Family fun in the sun with Dubai Summer Surprises
Dubai invites visitors to shop, save and celebrate this summer
Visitors to Dubai can expect the unexpected during Dubai Summer Surprises which takes place for ten weeks between 17 June – 7 August 2010. Now in its twelfth year, the pan-Dubai festival targets family holidaymakers, placing a particular emphasis on fun, knowledge and entertainment, while also attracting record-breaking footfall (around seven million people each year) through the city’s principal shopping malls who offer a plethora of exciting promotions to complement the other activities.
Dedicated events, special offers and prize draws where visitors can win fabulous prizes and a host of other goodies are on offer to visitors. From hotels to eateries, malls and other local businesses, Dubai embraces its Summer Surprises festival, inviting guests to sample an array of family-friendly, interactive entertainment from live shows to children’s activities, competitions and courses.
Dubai is already considered one of the world’s premier shopping destinations but during Dubai Summer Surprises the malls are further transformed into venues for live entertainment, music and dancing. As with the emirate’s other big annual winter event, Dubai Shopping Festival, these vast malls then collaborate to offer major discounts across a broad spectrum of products from high street fashion, to traditional Arabian interior design and the coolest couture.
Ian Scott, UK and Ireland director of the Government of Dubai, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, comments: "The Dubai Summer Surprises festival is another great excuse to visit this family and shopping friendly destination. Discounts and entertainment in many of the malls will keep everyone happy this summer, and with many tour operators offering deals during this period, there has never been a better time to visit Dubai.”
Tour operators are offering great deals this summer for families, from 5-star luxury to more affordable options.
Emirates Tours offers 5 nights at The Westin Dubai, Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina from £829 per person, including daily breakfast in an Executive Club Room, and return flights with Emirates. Travel between 5 Jun-15 Jul & 11 Aug-11 Sep. Book by 3 July 2010. To book, call 0844 800 1400 or visit emiratestours.co.uk
