Dubai offers Easter Fun for all the Family
This Easter jet off for some restorative fun in the sun in Dubai. With world-class facilities and a host of attractions to keep the whole family entertained, the emirate really does offer something for everyone.
Dubai’s immeasurable range of activities for family fun includes a selection of water attractions. At Atlantis, The Palm visitors of all ages can explore a world of breathtaking water thrills at Aquaventure, a 50-acre waterscape, and have an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience at Dolphin Bay, where visitors can meet these extraordinary creatures in a four-and-a-half hectare lush tropical setting. And there is the excitement of nearby Wild Wadi where 14 interconnected water rides are enough to amaze even the most seasoned thrill seekers.
This Easter why not visit Al Sahra Desert Resort, a unique ecotourism resort which offers visitors an experience of Arabian hospitality and culture, arts and crafts, amid the desert’s sand dunes. The main entertainment complex encompasses an amphitheatre seating up to 2,500 spectators as well as a Bedouin-style working farm. The star attraction is an imagistics theatre show, Jumana – Secret of the Desert - a spectacular open air stage show celebrating Arabia’s rich history and culture to inspire the whole family.
Elsewhere, Children’s City is a unique learning centre and the first “edutainment” development in the UAE. Here children between two and 15 can investigate, explore, play, discover, and learn about the world. Alternatively, on 10, 11 and 12 April, Ski Dubai is running an ‘Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt’ for children. With a map, youngsters completing the activities fastest will win Easter prizes, ably assisted by Frostbite, Ski Dubai’s polar bear masot, as well as bunnies and face painters. Further details are at www.skidxb.com.
Many of Dubai’s leading hotels, particularly those along the beach, feature extensive programmes of activities to keep the kids entertained. All young guests at Jumeirah Beach Hotel receive complimentary access to Sinbads Kids Club with its full range of supervised activities. And at Jebel Ali’s Hatta Fort Hotel little ones can enjoy mini golf, swimming lessons and other games to keep them busy.
Getting around Dubai with the whole family in tow is easy and cost effective. The emirate can be navigated by taxi, car, bus and even boat.
Ian Scott, director UK and Ireland for the Government of Dubai, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) comments: “Dubai is becoming one of the world’s ultimate family destinations. There really is something for everyone this Easter; from sun worshippers and shoppers, to action and adventure lovers with an increasing number of attractions to keep the kids entertained. Now is the time for families to visit Dubai. Then over the next few years, the emirate’s bold and progressive attitude to growth will see a whole host of additional family oriented development initiatives open to offer an impressive portfolio of exceptional facilities for families. These iconic developments will continue to set Dubai apart from its competitors, rivalling other more traditional family destinations.”
The emirate is now more cost effective and family friendly than ever before with the first all-inclusive hotel package for Dubai at Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa. To satisfy demand tour operators including Gold Medal (www.goldmedal.co.uk), are offering the ‘All Yours’ package.
"This is about Dubai listening to the UK, especially when trading is tough,” said Gold Medal sales and marketing director Ruth Connor. Activities to keep the whole family entertained are incorporated in the price including: movie nights, camel rides, non-motorised water sports, wine-tasting and so much more to keep visitors smiling throughout their stay.
The deal comprises return flights and four nights' all-inclusive at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa from £729pp available via Gold Medal (www.goldmedal.co.uk).
