About Morocco

A land of contrasts

Welcome to the Travel Weekly Academy for Morocco. In the next ten modules you'll discover a destination that is in Africa, but just nine miles from Europe; that is on the Atlantic and on the Mediterranean; that is ocean on one side and desert on another, with snow-capped mountains in between.

The ten modules cover everything you need to know about selling holidays to Morocco, from how to get there and get around to information on the best sights, activities and Moroccan cuisine. You can supplement your learning by contacting the Moroccan National Tourist Board or by exploring Visitmorocco.org. You'll find contact details at the bottom of every page.

Endless variety

Morocco’s variety is a great part of its charm. With over 2000 miles of coastline – including a number of Blue Flag endorsed beaches – it’s perfect for family beach holidays; with four mountain ranges, countless rivers and hundreds of miles of open desert it’s perfect for activity and adventure; and with cities that range from the ancient to the thoroughly modern, there are few better destinations for a city break with a difference. Best of all, all this is just three hours’ flight from the UK.

Unforgettable sights

It is the sights of Morocco, though, that make it truly unforgettable. Beloved of artists for its sublime colour and light, it is equally celebrated for its natural landscapes and exquisite architecture. Delacroix and Matisse are among the many that lived and painted in Tangier; Orson Welles filmed parts of Othello in Essaouira, and Lawrence of Arabia was shot at Ait Benhaddou on the famous Kasbah Trail. Yves Saint Laurent and Winston Churchill are among the scores of other famous visitors who have praised the country’s beauty.

For every module that you pass you will be able to print off a certificate for your portfolio. Pass all ten and you'll also receive a great prize from the Moroccan National Tourist Office.

We hope that you enjoy learning about Morocco, and that the academy will help boost your sales and commission.

Yours sincerely,

Moroccan National Tourist Office
